Whittet Kikuyu is a medium-textured, light green, warmseason grass that spreads by vigorousrhizomes and stolons. Kikuyu grass forms a tough, dense, springy turf under close mowing. Adapted to moist, mediumtextured soils of high fertility. It is well adapted to high elevations, however, in the warm damp tropical lowland it becomes severely diseased and does not persist. While active growth occurs between16 and 32 degrees Celsius it retains more colour and maintains more growth below 16 degrees Celsius than most other warmseason turf grasses Seeding rate: 0.5–1.5kg/100m2 M.
