- A great grass for full sun areas
Nullarbor Couch is classed as a warm season grass, like most grasses grown in Australia. It has been researched, evaluated and trialled for the past 20 years to deliver long-lasting performance in full sun areas. This variety requires at least 6 hours of sunlight per day so it is ideal for full sun areas. If you are looking for a more shade tolerant variety, you may consider Sir Grange (Zeon) Zoysia or Sir Walter DNA Certified Buffalo.

Maintenance
Nullarbor Couch has higher maintenance requirements than some other grass types. For example, during the summer it is best to mow it every 5-7 days to ensure it doesn’t invade any areas where it is not wanted.
During winter, Nullarbor Couch has low dormancy – this is when the grass is in a dormant state and the plant focuses resources on the roots. Consequently, it has an early start to growth after winter, and also has rapid recovery from wear and other stresses.
It’s best to apply a Lawn Solutions Australia recommended fertiliser 2-3 times per year to maintain a dense vigorous lawn. Nullarbor Couch has good tolerance to broadleaf herbicides for weed control.
