pH is the measure of alkalinity and acidity within a liquid. pH measured on a scale from 0 – 14 with 7 being neutral, 0-6.9 is acid, 7.1 – 14 is alkaline. Each change in one pH unit reflects a tenfold increase or decrease in the pH value e.g. pH 10 is ten times more alkaline than pH 9 and one hundred times more than pH 8. It is therefore extremely important to make adjustments to pH slowly.
1. Using the measuring cap provided, measure the desired amount of Aqua One pH Down. 5-10ml per 100L of aquarium water to lower the pH by 0.2 per 24 hour period.
Every aquarium is unique and many factors affect pH. Use the dosage rate as a guide only and anypH adjustments should be made slowly over time.
2. Pour the pH Down near the outlet of your filtration system.
3. Re-test the pH after 12-24 hours and make adjustments as required.
